REVIEWS & RESEARCH

How to read health insurance reviews

Use customer feedback without mistaking it for a policy guarantee.

Check what the profile covers

A company-wide review page may combine different products. A smooth motor insurance purchase tells you little about a health insurance claim. Check the profile name, not just the brand.

Read across experiences

Look at positive and negative reviews, different dates and the company’s replies. Distinguish buying a policy from making a claim. One detailed story can suggest a question to ask, but cannot establish how common an issue is.

Treat scores as one input

Review platforms have different audiences and methods. A small score difference does not establish that one policy has better benefits, pays a higher proportion of claims or suits you more closely.

Our approach

We display dated source scores, link to the original profiles and label their scope. We do not reproduce full customer reviews or turn third-party ratings into invented Coverwell star ratings.

Prepared from the linked sources. Not a personal recommendation or a claims-tested review. Confirm current terms with an insurer or authorised broker.
