A new policy may mean new terms
Switching is not just an exercise in finding a lower price. Your underwriting, hospital access and benefit limits all need checking.
Compare documents side by side
Put your current schedule beside the proposed one. Mark any changes to excess, outpatient benefits, exclusions, hospitals and consultant access. Ask whether ongoing treatment or previously covered conditions will remain covered.
Check timing and continuity
Ask the new insurer to explain its switching terms in writing. Confirm acceptance and the start date before cancelling the old policy. Find out what happens to treatment that spans the changeover.
Keep an audit trail
Retain both quotes, the new schedule and written answers. If a promise matters to your decision, ask where it appears in the contractual documents.
